FAQ for Interpreters

Do you hire freelance interpreters or employees?

Freelance interpreters.

Do I need certification?

Certification is preferred but is not required. Qualified applicants may be considered based on experience, skills, and screening.

 

Do you guarantee a certain number of hours per week?

No.

I work with patients. May I transfer them to your agency?
 

No. We do not work with medical insurance; we accept requests directly from the hospitals and clinics.

What are your rates?

Call us. Your rate will depend on the contracts we have, on your qualifications, and the type of assignment.

I have my 40-hour training. Will I have to take a memory test
during the interview?


Yes. We will skip the memory test if you have a court interpreter certification or CMI, or if you are applying for a translator's position.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in English and at least one other language

  • Prior interpreting experience preferred

  • Court, legal, or medical interpreting background preferred for specialized assignments

  • Relevant certification, when applicable

  • Professionalism, punctuality, and strong communication skills

  • Authorization to work in the United States
